How does business data licensing work with Maryah?
What to prepare, why onboarding starts with counts and screenshots, and when your company’s data actually moves.
You do not have to send your company’s files to find out whether data licensing is worth exploring. Start by describing the systems your team uses and the history they hold. During onboarding, we start with counts and screenshots, not raw data. Data moves only after a buyer deal is agreed.
What should we prepare for the first conversation?
Make a list of your business tools: your CRM, support system, email and shared documents. Note how many years of records you have and roughly how many records each system holds. You do not need to export everything or clean up your records before asking a question.
Why counts and screenshots first?
Counts help us understand the size of the opportunity without reading the underlying records. Screenshots help verify those counts. Show the relevant totals and date range, not customer conversations or sensitive details. Hide names, email addresses and anything unrelated before sharing a screenshot.
What data would be included?
Agree the scope before any transfer. This means the systems, types of records and time periods that may be included, along with what must stay out. A software subscription does not establish the right to license every record inside it. Customer, employee and supplier restrictions still need to be checked.
When do we send the actual data?
Your records stay in your systems during onboarding. Data moves only after a buyer deal is agreed, using the agreed scope and handling process. Counts and screenshots are the first step, not a request for a raw-data upload.
Does an assessment mean we have a buyer?
No. An assessment helps us understand what you have. An estimate is an indicative range, not a purchase offer. A sale depends on buyer demand, usable records, licensing rights and agreed terms. Neither an assessment nor a signed licence guarantees a sale.
What should we ask before agreeing?
Ask what the buyer may use the data for, what is excluded, how identifying details will be handled, what triggers payment and when it is due. Ask what happens when the licence ends. These points belong in the agreement.
What is the next step?
Start with an assessment or a conversation with Maryah. Bring your list of systems and approximate history. Do not send raw records through an enquiry form.
